Adelaide is known for its many churches as well as for being the serial killer capital of Australia. Its also the placewhere local deviates The Meatbeaters have been preachingtheir gospel of filth and sonic destruction for about twodecades. Theirs is a loud, dirty, ugly din that has no time forsubtlety. If you need proof, slap on this discs "C.O.A.B." or"Lunch" and watch those easily offended run for their nearestsafe space. Fans of Australian scuzz rock will find much to love here. The Meatbeaters heavy, relentless assault recalls their Melbourne mates the Powder Monkeys or the Cosmic Psychos/Onyas laced with Motorhead. Unlike those bands, however, they're barely known outside of their home country, even though they've been killin it for two decades with a hearty stack of stellar releases. This comp aims to right that wrong and score the Meatbeaters some international acclaim with a selection of 11 band originals, some of which are making their first appearance on vinyl here.
