PEAX uses a synthesis of styles to create a new musical universe. Ties Mellema and Barry Jurjus have a deep affection for musical diversity creating compositions that resonate with the contemporary world. Coming from, and being trained as classical musicians, Barry and Ties decided that it was time for them to start making their own music. Music that was not confined to the boundaries of the concert hall yet has classical structures as a basis. PEAX, a group with a global perspective, sources inspiration from the multifaceted nature of modern society. Blending the essence of minimal music seamlessly with contagious dance energy, African melodies, Latin rhythms, and the electric vigor of drum and bass, PEAX both invigorates the listener and provides space for reflection.
