De eenzame weduwe Joyce heeft geld nodig en wil een kamer verhuren. Ze ontmoet Bob, een zwerver die veel jonger is dan zij. Joyce besluit de kamer aan hem te verhuren, maar wordt door zijn aanwezigheid geconfronteerd met haar meest extreme fantasieën. Wanneer Joyce verraden wordt door een vriend, slaat ze compleet door.
