'Ancient Heart' is Tanita Tikaram's, only 19 years young, self-penned debut album with guest appearances by Mark Ribot, David Lindley and Brandan Croker amongst others and is produced by Rod Argent and Mike + The Mechanics' Peter Van Hooke. Her near perfect signature song 'Twist in My Sobriety' is a stark, sinuous, desperate torch song that managed to garner airplay and sounded like nothing else then or since. The album spawned four international hit-singles and sold over four million copies worldwide, reached the status from gold to double platinum all over Europe and was in 1989 Germany's best-selling album.
