Op 3 maart 1692 wordt in Whitewood, Massachusetts, de heks Elizabeth Selwyn (Patricia Jessel) veroordeeld tot de brandstapel. Haar partner Jetrhow Keane (Valentibe Dyall) vraagt Lucifer om haar te redden. Zo’n 300 jaar later besluit de studente Nan Barlow (Venetia Stephenson) haar vakantie in het stadje door te brengen om onderzoek te doen naar hekserij.
