With a sense of chamber music, improvisation, and contemporary classical, the two Buenos Aires-based musicians Fernando Otero and Victor Hugo Villena have chosen their hometown as the center of their shared album. Their playing mixes into an interactive language with lyrical phrases that are clearly attributable to Argentine tango and quickly switch between heart-grabbing melodies and fast-paced rhythms.
