Katharine groeide op in Point Pleasant maar wist als student niet hoe snel ze er weg moest komen. Ze vertrok naar Washington en werd een succesvol journaliste. Nu stuurt haar baar haar terug naar haar geboortestad om een verhaal te schrijven over het tiende Mothman Festival. Wanneer Katharine haar oude vrienden ontmoet, komt er een duister geheim boven water. Haar vrienden worden vervolgens één voor één vermoord en Katharine raakt ervan overtuigd dat iemand of iets het op hen voorzien heeft…….Is het de Mothman?
