Ryan Ayers mag bei CandyRat Records neu sein, ist aber in der Welt der Gitarristen eine bekannte Größe. 'Lanterns' ist sein neuestes Werk mit mehreren Stücken aus seinen vorigen Alben ("Folds", "After After" und "Island Moonshine"), die überarbeitet, neu aufgenommen und gemastert wurden. Vier brandneue Tracks bringen frischen Wind in 'Lanterns'. Der Song Lanterns kombiniert Fingerstyle Grooves mit klassischen Techniken. Ayers erstes Slide-Gitarrenstück "Kiriata" rundet das Album ab.
