Sabrina Spellman, een hele normale 16-jarige, krijgt te horen van haar tantes, Hilda en Zelda, dat zij (en zij, en haar hele familie aan haar vader's kant) heksen zijn. Ze woont met haar tantes in Massachusetts terwijl ze zich voorbereidt op het behalen van haar heksenexamen.
