Import from The Netherlands with English soundtrack Life in the rough town of Dodge City in the Wild West is never easy . Marshal Matt Dillon needs with the help of his second Chester Goode try to maintain order. They are assisted by Doc Adams and saloon proprietor Kitty. Together they take on the rugged and unsavory characters who are constantly traveling through the town . Gunsmoke was a revolutionary series , it is still seen as the starting point of the 'adult' western. Until today it is 20 years, the longest running series ( constant cast) in TV history . The episodes in this box were originally the last 16 parts of the seventh season aired on American television ( 1961-1962 ) . The first 18 episodes of this season have been issued as " Gunsmoke - Box 1 . The seventh season was the first season in which the episodes lasted 50 minutes . The first six seasons consisted of episodes of 30 minutes , they were later released under the title " Marshal Dillon " again .
