Enter the Mysterium

Dit is het tweede solo-album van Peter Ulrich, de voormalige drummer en percussionist van Dead Can Dance. Zijn eerste soloplaat (Pathways & dreams) werd nog geproduceerd door DCD-collega Brendan Perry, maar nu staat Ulrich volledig op eigen benen. Ofschoon talloze percussie-instrumenten uit o.a. Afrika en AziÙ centraal staan, is Ulrich verrassend goed in het schrijven van melodieuze songs, die hoorbaar be´nvloed zijn door Pink Floyd en Brian Eno. Voeg daarbij een flinke dosis worldinvloeden plus natuurlijk de van DCD bekende elementen uit middeleeuwse muziek en je krijgt prachtige, etherische folkpop. Doordat deze Europese release geremastered is als SACD, komen de talloze lagen in Ulrichs muziek nog beter tot hun recht. Hybride SACD (surround and stereo).
