RENT is gebaseerd op de opera van Pucinni ?La Boheme?. Het verhaal gaat over een jaar uit het leven van een groep bohémiens die zich staande probeert te houden in het drukke, chaotische leven van New York. RENT is een muzikaal spectakel over geldnood, (verbroken) relaties, drugsverslaving, Aids, de dood, eenzaamheid, vriendschap en de oneindige zoektocht naar geluk. Maar ondanks alles leven de vrienden met slechts één motto: Leef alsof het de laatste dag van je leven is!
