Marialy Pacheco wuchs in Havanna, Kuba, auf und studierte dort Piano. Erst mit 20 Jahren entdeckte sie den Jazz und war ihm sofort verfallen. Im gleichen Jahr reiste sie erstmals nach Bremen, wo sie spontan auch blieb. Seither hat sie zahlreiche Konzerte in Deutschland und dem benachbarten Ausland gegeben und hat ein zahlreiches Publikum gefunden. Ihre Art, die Musik ihrer Heimat mit dem Jazz zu verbinden, ist beeindruckend und erinnert an große Vorbilder wie Chucho Valdez und Michel Camilo.
