After the success of 'The Castle', the Czech KAFKA BAND is again dedicated to an unfinished novel FRANZ KAFKAs: 'America'. The Spoken Word parts are accompanied by minimalist jazz and ambient surfaces and literature is transformed into sound and rhythm. Releases as CD on INDIES SCOPE. In the Czech Republic, the KAFKA BAND around singer and draftsman JAROMIR 99 and author JAROSLAV RUDI has long enjoyed absolute cult status. JAROMIR 99 and RUDI, not least known for their graphic novel 'Alois Nebel' and their filming, have gathered here some of the most renowned Czech musicians around, members of leading Czech bands such as PRIESSNITH or TATA BOJS. FRANZ KAFKAS unfinished novel 'America' (The Lost) has inspired the KAFKA BAND to create new songs. After 'The Castle', it is the second novel fragment of the important writer that sets the cult band to music. Originally, Jaroslav Rudi created together with Alexander Riemenschneider and the band the music to 'America' for a staging at the Theater Bremen, which was to be experienced there for two seasons. The sound of the seven-piece band has changed significantly since 'The Castle': the sound has become cooler, more machine-made, synthetic sounds, vocoder and electronic drums get more space and arrange between atmospheric jazz and ambience.
