John Olenn McCord (*1936 in San Antone) spielte zunächst Bass bei Eddy Dugosh’s Ah-Ha Playboys, bevor er 1955 The Jokers gründete, um für Bob Tanners lokales T'N'T-Label aufzunehmen, wobei auch die hier vorliegenden vier Songs entstanden. Später sollte er einen Deal bei Liberty Records in Hollywood unterschrieben und darauf hin auch als Schauspieler auftreten.
