Released in 1968 and directed by Ugo Liberatore, IL SESSO DEGLI ANGELI is one of the most intriguing examples of late-1960s Italian cinema, blending psychological drama, social commentary and the era's emerging fascination with changing moral values. The filmexplores themes of desire, identity and emotional alienation through a sophisticated and often provocative narrative, reflectingthe cultural transformations taking place in Italy during the decade. Giovanni Fusco composed a score of remarkable elegance and restraint, perfectly suited to the films introspective atmosphere.
