3 LPS ON 2CDs + 6 BONUS TRACKS This release presents three outstanding quintet albums (recorded During 1959-1962) by the celebrated Jamaican saxophonist Joe Harriott: Abstract (Columbia 33SX 1477), Southern Horizons (Jazzland JLP-37), and Free Form (Jazzland JLP-49). Harriott lived most of his musical life in London, and helped to build the British modern & free jazz scene. Even though he had become quite successful by the time the albums included here were recorded, he would die in relative obscurity in 1973 at the age of 44. As a bonus, we offer two complete earlier sessions showcasing Harriot in a quartet format, recorded during 1955-56. INCLUDES 20-PAGE BOOKLET.
