EU-only collection. This release contains two rare concert performances by the great Stan Getz, both of which appear here on CD for the first time ever. The first six tracks find the saxophonist in England in May 1958 (the exact location and date are not known) as the only horn in a quintet format, backed by Lou Levy on piano, Herb Ellis on guitar, Ray Brown on bass, and Gus Johnson on drums. The next five tracks feature Getz in a Jazz at the Philharmonic-like context, sharing the frontline with Dizzy Gillespie on trumpet and Sonny Stitt on alto sax, plus three quarters of the Modern Jazz Quartet acting as the rhythm section.
