El Bloque Depresivo was born in 2010; being the third musical project led by the musicians from La Floripondio (1991) and Chico Trujillo (1999). Depressive Block is a Chilean group led by Aldo Asenjo; parallel to La Floripondio and Chico Trujillo. Álvaro Henríquez has been a recurring guest in the group's live and album presentations. The band is distinguished by reinterpreting songs typical of onion music; boleros; and Peruvian waltzes. Aldo Asenjo; group leader; explains that they chose precisely that musical style because it is "the type of songs that one finds at four in the morning in the bar that closes last." Specialists in Latin genres such as cumbia and bolero; have become one of the most important references of the new Chilean cumbia.
