Valentine è una fotomodella che vive sola a Ginevra. Una sera la ragazza investe un cane, che appartiene ad un magistrato in pensione. Questi è un solitario scorbutico, la cui sola attività consiste nello spiare i vicini. Ma, sia pure indifferente all`incidente occorso al cane, il giudice ha un interesse per Valentine. Uno strano rapporto fatto di timidezza e discrezione, si instaura quindi fra i due.
