Nel bel mezzo di un furioso temporale, una giovane vedova riceve nel proprio chalet isolato nei boschi la visita di uno sconosciuto, rimasto a piedi dopo un incidente d'auto. Il misterioso individuo, dapprima mansueto, si fa minaccioso iniziando a perseguitare la donna con scomode domande sul suo passato, sul marito defunto e sulla figlia scomparsa. Un crudele gioco psicologico innesca qualcosa di imprevedibile in un vortice di sospetti, accuse e lotte fisiche.
