SINOSSI
Mary, giovane moglie americana di Max Hunter, giunge per la prima volta sul Reno, al castello nobiliare della famiglia del marito. La stessa notte del suo arrivo scopre con orrore il corpo martoriato di una giovane cameriera, rinchiuso nell'antico strumento di tortura denominato la "Vergine di Norimberga", ed invano il marito, la vecchia governante, il maggiordomo, ed il custode del Museo tentano di convincerla che si è trattato di un incubo notturno.
