The Flight

The South American outfit has produced onlythree albums in the space of 12 years, and eachof its works has been well received by bothaudiences and critics. The 2003 debut Um DiaDe Chuva represented a welcome change in thejazz scene by showing how it was still possibleto produce creative and inspired music thattranscended clichs and stereotypes. Three yearslater Depois represented a confirmation of thetrio's vitality in its original approach to jazz.With V¶o, the lineup of Brazilian drummerRicardo Mosca and Cuban pianist YanielMatos, complemented on this occasion bySidiel Vieira on double bass, signs its thirdwork that highlights how the trio's musichas further evolved and enriched in content,while remaining firmly in the groove traced byprevious works.
