steve corbett e' imbarcato come passeggero sul piroscafo "marie claire", ma non e' a bordo per una vacanza: deve consegnare un messaggio e del denaro a un esercito di ribelli in lotta contro il regime in honduras. il suo piano e' liberare tre pericolosi prigionieri che dovevano essere consegnati alle autorita' del nicaragua, con il loro aiuto impadronirsi del piroscafo e raggiungere la costa honduregna su una scialuppa, portando con se' come ostaggi due passeggeri, harry e sylvia sheppard.
