DESCRIPTION

The new album by Furio di Castri's quintet presents a journey through some "differently" Sunday atmospheres in which a bit of Mao Tse Tung's dialectical materialism is compared with the classical iconography of the Far East (Shades of China) and with various sentimental and ironic (Oh No), romantic (Calling Miss Daisy), hardcore (What Love) and Freudian (The bass and His double) reflections. All imbued with major and minor thoughts and dominated by the spirit of Charles Mingus and Frank Zappa. Furio Di Castri, double bass player and composer born in Milan in 1955, has collaborated for a long time with Michel Petrucciani, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, Chet Baker, Paul Bley, Richard Galliano, John Taylor, Joe Henderson, Peppe Servillo.
