From the inexhaustible creative flair of Javier Girotto and the talent of the Alma Saxophone Quartet comes the new album by Parco Della Musica Records. The experience of an international soloist and the skill of four young talents meet and join hands to create a fresh and compelling project, full of sounds and emotions. The disc includes eleven compositions by the great jazzman arranged for saxophone quartet, including absolute novelties and adaptations of some famous pieces from his repertoire. The tango, Argentine national dance and musical genre of choice of ours, is declined here in many forms and styles, from the vibrant impetus of Andantango to the cheeky vitality of Forza della natura, from passionate and ethereal melodies like Condor culture to exotic rhythms and wanted like Colyseus; all accompanied by iconic songs such as The Moon and The Poetry. The saxophone quartet forms the backbone of the pieces, alternating poignant melodies with daring virtuosic steps, and lays out a sound carpet on which the soloist improvises freely from time to time. An overwhelming energy is released from the interaction between quartet and soloist, which envelops and excites the listener.
