1986. Heiko e Tommy vivono a Berlino Est. Sognano la libertà e intanto passano il loro tempo bighellonando e facendo scherzi, a volte anche pesanti. Un giorno Tommy viene arrestato e in carcere entra in contatto con un gruppo neonazista e si fa tatuare un simbolo delle SS. Quando esce di prigione ritrova il suo amico Heiko, ma questi non condivide del tutto le sue nuove idee politiche. Insieme decidono di tentare la fuga dalla DDR, ma vengono scoperti e arrestati.
