Prato, simbolo del made in Italy dell'industria tessile in tutto il mondo. Vittorio Pelagatti e Armando Giachetti sono i proprietari della Gobbotex, un'azienda fondata dai nonni nel dopoguerra che oggi naviga in cattive acque e rischia di affondare per una crisi economica inarrestabile. La situazione si complica quando fa il suo ingresso nell'Unione Industriali di Prato, un'imprenditrice dagli occhi a mandorla, pronta a tutto. La Signora Lì, infatti, acquista aziende in difficoltà per poi ripartirle e rivenderle e la Gobbotex è l'oggetto dei suoi desideri.
