Scattered houses built along a highway, in the midst of enormous lumber yards, shopping centres and neon. Rino and Cristiano Zena, father and son, live here. Rino makes do with odd jobs. Cristiano is in middle school. It is the two of them against the world. Rino raises his son the best he can. Cristiano worships his father with a misguided but powerful love. Their lone friend, Quattro Formaggi, has not been right in the head since an accident. He spends his days building a strange manger scene made of trash taken from the town dump.
