SINOSSI
Una straordinaria storia vera. A distanza di 14 anni dagli attacchi terroristici dell’11 settembre 2001, il musulmano Mohamedou Ould Slahi sta ancora scontando la sua pena a Guantanamo perché ritenuto un esponente del terrorismo antiamericano. Il duro lavoro dell’avvocato Nancy Hollander (Jodie Foster) e della sua giovane collega Teri Duncan (Shailene Woodley), che lo difendono, porterà alla luce raccapriccianti verità su Guantanamo, luogo di detenzione ai limiti della legalità e della dignità umana. Lo stesso procuratore militare Stuart Couch (Benedict Cumberbatch), deciso a tutto pur di vendicare i colleghi rimasti vittime degli attacchi alle Torri Gemelle, si ritroverà a collaborare con Hollander per far luce sulle atrocità del campo di prigionia.
