Giappone, 11 marzo 2011. L’intero paese è scosso da un terribile terremoto che causa danni immensi. Lo smottamento della terra, infatti, scatena un violentissimo tsunami che si abbatte sulle coste del paese lasciandosi dietro migliaia di morti. Nella centrale nucleare di Fukushima si consuma la tragedia più inquietante a causa dello scoppio di alcuni reattori. Sarà solo grazie al coraggio di 50 dipendenti che metteranno a rischio la loro stessa vita che il disastro non assumerà proporzioni inimmaginabili….
