Durante una violenta bufera, un circo perde una zebra neonata. La ritrova Nolan, un addestratore di cavalli da corsa da poco ritiratosi nel suo ranch, che decide di regalarla alla figlia Channing. La zebretta, ribattezzata Striscia, non ci mette molto ad ambientarsi nella sua nuova casa e diventa amica di tutti gli stravaganti "abitanti" della fattoria. Per di piu', Striscia galoppa veloce come il vento e Channing sente di avere una missione, convincere papa' ad allenare la strana coppia per la corsa delle corse: il Kentucky Open.
