Un artista geniale con il potere di fermare il tempo combatte contro un sindaco ultraconservatore per salvare il mondo morente e ispirare speranza. Megalopolis è un’epopea romana ambientata in un’America moderna e immaginaria. La città di New Rome sta cambiando, causando aspri conflitti tra Cesar Catilina, geniale artista che cerca di proiettarsi in un futuro utopico e idealistico, e la sua nemesi, il sindaco Franklyn Cicerone, reazionario e legato a uno status quo regressivo, avido e corrotto. Tra i due si inserisce Julia, la figlia del sindaco che, essendo innamorata di Cesar Catilina, si trova a dover scegliere in chi riporre la propria lealtà e a chiedersi cosa merita, davvero, l’umanità.
