Una sera d’estate, a Central Park, il marinaio Michalel salva da un’aggressione Elisa, moglie di un celebre avvocato. Assunto nello yatch, il marinaio avverte subito una strana atmosfera. Durante un viaggio i due si innamorano. Per procurarsi i soldi necessari a fuggire insieme, l’uomo decide di accettare il losco affare propostogli da Grisby, un socio dell’avvocato. Peccato che mai scelta si rivelerà più funesta. Per Michael, infatti, sarà l’inizio di un incubo.
