Quando Jessica (DeWanda Wise) torna a vivere con la sua famiglia nella casa dove è cresciuta, la figliastra Alice (Pyper Braun) avventurandosi in cantina, trova un orsacchiotto di peluche di nome Teddy. Fin da subito sviluppa un inquietante attaccamento con lui, dapprima in modo giocoso e poi sempre più sinistro. Quando il comportamento di Alice diventa sempre più preoccupante, Jessica si rende conto che il tenero Teddy è molto più dell'orso di peluche che lei credeva.
