Lou Rogers, una giovane vedova, si trasferisce a Charleyville, un paesino dell’Arizona, in cerca di lavoro. Viene assunta come lavorante da una donna proprietaria di una fattoria, che, ben presto, le si affeziona come una mamma. Lou è corteggiata da Dan, un giocatore d’azzardo e, contemporaneamente da un ricco fattore. Un giorno la banca del paese viene assaltata e Lou uccide uno dei ladri, da allora la donna assume la carica di sceriffo. Un western comico per tutta la famiglia.
