Susan, una cantante radiofonica che gode di un buon successo, subisce un tentativo di omicidio. Marion, amica della donna e anch’essa famosa cantante, confessa alla polizia di essere lei la colpevole. Luke, un pianista, che conosce bene entrambe le donne, non riesce a credere alla confessione di Marion. Le due donne infatti sono molto legate e Susan deve la sua splendida carriera al coraggio di Marion. I suoi forti dubbi lo portano ad indagare sul caso e a scoprire la verità.
