Madeleine de Beaupre, un’abile ladra ruba una collana di perle. Per sfuggire al controllo doganale la fa scivolare nelle tasche di Tom Bradley, un ingegnere in vacanza. La donna si lascia seguire, visto che entrambi si stanno recando nello stesso posto. Lo scopo di Madeleine è quello di recuperare il gioiello, ma, alla fine se ne innamora. La ladra, in vista delle nozze, sente il dovere di confessare tutto a Tom che riesce a strapparla dalle grinfie dei suoi complici.
