Per salvare il posto e un imminente matrimonio, più volte differito, un impiegato del Diner's Club deve recuperare una carta di credito, incautamente rilasciata a un gangster, Foots Pulardes finito sotto inchiesta per evasione fiscale. L’amica di quest’ultimo gli consiglia di iscriversi al Diner's Club, che gli consente di acquistare un biglietto d'aereo per il Messico dove ha poderosi conti in banca. Ma Foots ha in mente un piano diverso: dal momento che ha un piede più lungo dell'altro tenta di uccidere Klenk (D. Kaye) che ha la sua stessa malformazione per far credere a tutti che si è suicidato.
