Pierre Peders, autorevole reporter di guerra in declino, è costretto suo malgrado ad intervistare una nota starlette della televisione americana, la bionda e apparentemente inconsistente Katya. Dopo una vivace schermaglia al tavolo di un ristorante alla moda, dove l'attrice si fa attendere oltre l'ora, il giornalista contrariato si allontana in taxi. Un incidente provocato involontariamente dall'avvenenza di Katya la metterà di nuovo a confronto con Pierre. Invitato a salire nel suo loft di New York, Pierre avvierà un'intervista senza esclusione di colpi. Tra rivelazioni e menzogne, soltanto uno porterà il punto a casa.
