Una troupe cinematografica gira un film su una pista di pattinaggio. Il regista, scortato di continuo da un operatore televisivo, e i tecnici delle riprese si avventurano sul ghiaccio per definire le inquadrature e scoprono la natura eminentemente scivolosa del terreno sul quale si trovano. Il film, Dolores, mette in scena un portiere di hockey sul ghiaccio interpretato da una star americana, mentre i giocatori sono interpretati dalla nazionale lituana. L'attrice dovrebbe arrivare da un momento all'altro e la produttrice, dal canto suo, non desidera che una cosa: che il suo film sia presentato in concorso al Festival di Venezia. Alla fine il film è pronto.
