Gennaio 1976 Emanuelle Richman, famosa fotomodella, mentre si trova a Beirut con l'amico John, perde la memoria per lo scoppio di una bomba. Trasferita in un ospedale psichiatrico, la bella ragazza nera viene amorosamente curata da un professore. Guidato dai fugaci ricordi di Emanuelle, lo psichiatra la interroga sul padre e sull'ex marito ma ne ottiene versioni del tutto diverse da quelle fornite dai due congiunti. Emanuelle, intanto, si attacca morbosamente al medico e, quando tutte le cure sembrano ormai inutili, una circostanza la induce a rievocare l'aggressione subita da teppisti bianchi in motocicletta e casco rosso, aggressione seguita dall'assassinio del fratello Sam. Guarita, Emanuelle decide di abbandonarsi all'avventura insieme a Sharon, disinibita nipote dello psichiatra e volontaria frequentatrice della cllnica.
