Un poliziotto integerrimo, ma pieno di pregiudizi, si accanisce contro tre hippies. Durante un inseguimento a uno dei tre, la sua macchina precipita in un burrone. Il poliziotto dichiara guerra ai tre ragazzi accusandoli, ingiustamente, dell'accaduto. Per sfuggirgli, gli hippies si mettono in viaggio per raggiungere il paese natale di uno di loro, da dove sembra possibile emigrare in Brasile. La mèta sembra ormai vicina ma la polizia non si arrende.
