Il dottor Zorba lascia in eredità la sua vecchia casa al nipote Cyrus Zorba e alla sua famiglia. Cyrus, un paleontologo squattrinato in difficoltà, vi si trasferisce volentieri. Riceve con l'eredità anche un pacchetto con strani occhiali e scopre che lo zio collezionava fantasmi. Nella casa c'è infatti una collezione di dodici fantasmi che si possono vedere solo infilando quegli occhiali. Ma c'è anche un tesoro nascosto e per trovarlo la famiglia deve convivere con i fantasmi.
