At the time of its publication - in 1966 - Cream were established in England and neighboring countries thanks to a renewed blend of blues rock and elements of improvised jazz. Clapton, fresh from the adventures with John Mayall and Yardbirds, became one of the most celebrated guitarist in his homeland thanks to the releases with Cream.
