quando il liceale charley decide di frequentare un programma di studio in romania con l'amico "evil" ed, ossessionato dall'horror e l'ex-fidanzata amy, ben presto scopre che la loro giovane e attraente professoressa gerri e' un vampiro vero. peccato che nessuno gli crede. in realta', evil ed lo trova divertente e tutto questo alimenta la sua ossessione per i vampiri. quando gerri trasforma ed, charley chiede aiuto a peter vincent, il famigerato cacciatore di vampiri (beh, ne interpreta uno in tv) che e' in romania per le riprese del suo show "fright night", per insegnargli a uccidere gerri prima che catturi amy, il cui sangue curera' gerri dal trascorrere l'eternita' come un vampiro.
