Mounted model length 19cm The AV-8B Harrier II multi-role attack and close support aircraft was born from the cooperation of the British and US aviation industries. It constitutes a decisive evolution from the first short take-off and vertical landing V/STOL aircraft of the Harrier family. The AV-8B was developed and implemented to operate from catapult-free aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships as well as improvised airstrips. Thanks to these features it has been widely used by the United States Marine Corps even in operational contexts. Able to carry an offensive load consisting of air-to-air missiles, guided bombs and air-to-surface missiles, the AV-8B is characterized by a good flexibility in use and the ability to carry out many types of missions.
