PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Sturmgeschütz IV was developed on the chassis of the medium tank IV to equip the German army with a storm cannon in the advanced phases of World War II, which could also be effective as a tank fighter. The Stug IV was equipped with a Stuk40 75mm L/48 high-speed cannon installed in a casemate and protected by an armored mantle, and was able to penetrate the armor of the main enemy armored vehicles. Distributed to the units in the first months of 1944, he supplemented and often replaced the Stug III storm cannon, which experienced a sudden decline in production during the course of 1943 due to increasingly frequent attacks by Allied bombers on the German industrial areas. Widely used on the Eastern Front, the Stug IV was also used by the armoured units and the armoured forces of the Wehrmacht in Normandy, where it was particularly difficult to identify in the hedges of the French countryside due to its low profile.
