The Royal Army, in the years leading up to World War II, expressed the need for mechanized artillery units capable of supporting infantry departments and armored departments. On the hull of the medium tank "M" the self-propelled 75/18 was developed, which proved to be the most feared Italian armored vehicle during the conflict. In fact, thanks to its 75 mm howitzer installed in the casamatta, it proved to be an effective anti-tank weapon capable of annihilating even the most powerful and heavily armoured British and American tanks. During the course of the war, however, the Royal Army was required to develop a version with increased offensive capability. On the hull of the M42 self-propelled tank was then installed the 75/34 cannon designed for counter-tank shooting. The first specimens were distributed to the Italian departments in the spring of 1943. Due to its good operational performance, it was also used by German Wehrmacht departments after the armistice in September 1943. For collectors over the age of 14
