The Supermarine Spitfire fighter is undoubtedly one of the most famous aircraft in aviation history and an icon of British aviation production. Single-engine low-wing aircraft equipped with good offensive weaponry formed, in early versions, together with the Hawker Hurricane the backbone of the Royal Air Force fighter wards during the Battle of England against the German Luftwaffe. In the course of the war, to respond to the technological innovations of the opponents, the Spitfire was constantly evolved in aerodynamic configuration and engines. The Spitfire V, produced since 1941 and equipped with the Merlin 1,440 hp engine, was distributed in large numbers to the flight departments and later evolved into the Mk IX version. Piloted by the most celebrated aces of the British Royal Air Force he earned a significant number of air victories. For collectors over the age of 14
